The chiral diamine (1R,2R)-N,N,N?,N?-tetramethylcyclohexane-1, 2-diamine [(R,R)-TMCDA, 3] has been selectively deprotonated at one of its methyl groups by a series of alkyllithium bases. Although the enantiomerically pure compound formed a trimeric structure, direct lithiation of the racemic mixture of the amine (trans-TMCDA) yielded a tetrameric compound. With 2 equiv. of the deprotonation reagent a mixed aggregate of the lithiated amine and tert-butyllithium was formed. The lithiated amine was employed as a building block for the synthesis of novel nitrogen ligands. The asymmetric 1,2-addition of alpha-lithiated (R,R)-TMCDA onto different ketones and aldehydes yielded a series of novel N,N,O ligands with different substitution patterns. Depending on the carbonyl compound used, a new stereocentre and different substituents can be introduced. The coordination behaviour of these ligands is illustrated by the formation of metal salt complexes. (R,R)-TMCDA and its racemic mixture can be directly deprotonated at its methyl group. With 2 equiv. of the deprotonation reagent a mixed aggregate 8 of the lithiated amine 7 and tBuLi was formed. By addition of alpha-lithiated (R,R)-TMCDA onto carbonyl compounds a series of novel N,N,O ligands of type 4 with different substituents and a further stereocentre are accessible.

Immobilization of Co(III)(salen) complexes onto a gel-type 2-hydroxyethyl methacrylate resin was carried out. The possibilities of the stepwise construction and the direct building in salen ligands onto the resin were examined. High loaded polymer-bound Co(III)(salen) complexes were obtained as a result. The polymer-supported complexes were tested as recyclable catalysts in the reaction of carboxylic acids addition to epichlorohydrin. The differences in the catalytic activity of the complexes depending on the route of salen immobilization onto the polymer matrix were observed.

In this study, we prepared the Schiff base ligand (L) and its Cu(II), Co(II) and Ni(II) complexes. The compounds were characterized by the analytical and spectroscopic methods. The ligand (L) behaves as a bidentate ligand and coordinates to the metal ions via the nitrogen atoms. The complexes have the mononuclear structures. The analytical and spectroscopic results indicated that the chloride ions coordinate to the metal ions. The complexes have the general formulae [M(L)(Cl)2] (M: Cu(II), Co(II) and Ni(II) metal ions). Electrochemical properties were investigated as ligand and metal centres in the different solvents and at the scan rates, respectively. The thermal properties of the metal complexes were studied in the N2 atmosphere. We investigated the improved catalytic activity of the Cu(II), Co(II) and Ni(II) complexes on the cyclohexane as a substrate. Obtained data showed that the best catalyst is the Cu(II) complex. The single crystal of the ligand (L) was obtained from CH3CN solution. There is a C-H…N H-bond linking the molecules into chains (C6)…N(2) 3.4415(18) A under symmetry operation (x + 1,y,z) as well as pi-pi stacking on the outside of the “V” shape – nothing on the inside.

A systematic study on the iodine-mediated phosphoramidation reaction of amines and trialkyl phosphites was conducted, which not only disclosed the factors affecting the reaction but also revealed that it could proceed smoothly in CH2Cl2 at room temperature in open air.
