Immobilization of Co(III)(salen) complexes onto a gel-type 2-hydroxyethyl methacrylate resin was carried out. The possibilities of the stepwise construction and the direct building in salen ligands onto the resin were examined. High loaded polymer-bound Co(III)(salen) complexes were obtained as a result. The polymer-supported complexes were tested as recyclable catalysts in the reaction of carboxylic acids addition to epichlorohydrin. The differences in the catalytic activity of the complexes depending on the route of salen immobilization onto the polymer matrix were observed.

In this study, we prepared the Schiff base ligand (L) and its Cu(II), Co(II) and Ni(II) complexes. The compounds were characterized by the analytical and spectroscopic methods. The ligand (L) behaves as a bidentate ligand and coordinates to the metal ions via the nitrogen atoms. The complexes have the mononuclear structures. The analytical and spectroscopic results indicated that the chloride ions coordinate to the metal ions. The complexes have the general formulae [M(L)(Cl)2] (M: Cu(II), Co(II) and Ni(II) metal ions). Electrochemical properties were investigated as ligand and metal centres in the different solvents and at the scan rates, respectively. The thermal properties of the metal complexes were studied in the N2 atmosphere. We investigated the improved catalytic activity of the Cu(II), Co(II) and Ni(II) complexes on the cyclohexane as a substrate. Obtained data showed that the best catalyst is the Cu(II) complex. The single crystal of the ligand (L) was obtained from CH3CN solution. There is a C-H…N H-bond linking the molecules into chains (C6)…N(2) 3.4415(18) A under symmetry operation (x + 1,y,z) as well as pi-pi stacking on the outside of the “V” shape – nothing on the inside.

A systematic study on the iodine-mediated phosphoramidation reaction of amines and trialkyl phosphites was conducted, which not only disclosed the factors affecting the reaction but also revealed that it could proceed smoothly in CH2Cl2 at room temperature in open air. Using this method, various phosphoramidates with different aliphatic amines and aromatic amines were synthesized in good to excellent yields. The compound contains tetrahedral FeBr4(1-) anions which have no bonding interaction with the 15-crown-5 ether, which simply acts as a dielectric medium to separate the anions. A study of the thermal decomposition of the compoundswas performed by thermogravimetric analysis. IR and Moessbauer spectral measurements indicate that the decomposition products are water, acetal dehyde, dioxane, chlorine or bromine, carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide, and mixtures of hydrated iron(II) halides and iron oxides.

Over the past decade, polyoxometalates (POMs) have attracted extensive attention as homogeneous and heterogeneous catalysts or nanocatalysts for organic transformation. The most advantageous feature of POMs is the possibility of the catalyst design at atomic/molecular levels. They could be designed as multifunctional catalysts, based on different metal atoms or heteroatoms in their structure, counter cations, second structures, and etc. There are different ways for heterogenization of POMs for catalytic applications in literature. Two major groups have been reported for this purpose: exchanging the heteropoly acid (HPAs) protons with cations and immobilization of HPAs on a suitable solid support. The obtained heterogeneous catalysts have special properties and could be used in the wide range of organic reactions. Recent developments in this emerging area are discussed in this review, covering a little discussion about why the POMs are active catalysts. Then different POMcatalyzed organic reactions including oxidation, reduction, multicomponent, esterification and transesterification, C-C coupling, isomerization reactions, etc. were illustrated. According to the multifunctionality of the POM-base catalysts, this review compiles the recent advances (focusing on the period 2000-2016) in POM-catalyzed reactions which have attracted the interest of the scientific community addressing on development of environmentally benign synthetic processes.
