Thermal barriers (kJ/mol, assignment): green emission of 1 and 2, T<150 K (1-2, NH4+ rotations), 150250 K (29 kJ/mol, defect-to-Mn2+(4T1(4G)) back energy transfer). Crystal data for 4: Space group P21/c; Z = 4; a = 20.173(1) A; b = 9.0144(8) A; c = 20.821(1) A; beta = 98.782(5); V = 3741.9(8) A3; Rw = 0.059; R = 0.054.
